Thailand scuba diving package prices vary and are based on a several factors: type of boat used, number of dives, location of dive site, own gear discount, etc. Below you’ll find general pricing for some of Thailand’s most popular dive locations.
Daily trips in Thailand can range between 2,500 THB to 3,500 THB ($76 - $106 USD) for a two-dive trip. Some dive operators will offer three-dive trips. These are usually in the range of 3,800 THB - 4,300 THB ($115 USD- $131 USD). Prices will vary a bit depending on the location of the dive sites. Farther away sites cost more because fuel costs are higher. This price should include two or three dives, all equipment, lunch, and a dive guide. Depending on location, hotel pick up and breakfast may be included in the cost, too.
Liveaboard costs will vary based on how many days you’re at sea. For example, a 2-day/1-night
6-dive trip from Khao Lak costs around 13,000 THB (nearly $400 USD). A 5-day/5-night 19 dive
liveaboard package can be between 25,000 THB - 29,000THB ($762 USD - $884 USD). There
are many different providers. Companies with newer and bigger boats are more expensive.
The cheaper liveaboards are usually more basic. The price also varies depending on cabin
selection. Some liveaboards offer ensuite rooms or air-conditioned cabins. This will run you
a few thousand baht more.
Discounts
You may get a discount if you bring your own scuba gear. Some dive shops require you to have
an entire full set, meaning all you need from the shop are weights and a tank. Other dive
operators will give you a discount if you have just your own BCD and regulator, or even just one
or the other.
Thailand Scuba Diving Courses
If you’re not already a certified diver and want to take a course, Thailand is a great place to learn. The warm water, accessible dives sites, and interesting marine life create an unforgettable first-time experience. Every dive school offers a certification course. PADI courses are the most popular, however SSI is another one you may see occasionally. Prices will vary depending on dive school, whether it’s SSI or PADI, and whether or not the books and study materials are included in the cost.
Is it mainly liveaboards or day trips?
Almost all dive operators in Thailand offer daily dive trips. Some may also offer pre-scheduled liveaboard trips. It’s likely that no matter where you dive, you’ll hear of liveaboard trips leaving from your location, however daily trips are the most prevalent and the most popular.
The only exception is Khao Lak, which is known for having a huge number of liveaboards operating from its shores. It’s definitely possible to book daily dive trips well, however Khao Lak liveaboards are the most popular.
